Marshawn Lynch, Wiz Khalifa Invest In Professional Fighters League

Super Bowl-winning running back Marshawn Lynch has joined the Professional Fighters League as an investor and brand ambassador. Lynch's role within the league begins April 29. Following the league's second regular-season event in Atlantic City, the PFL will present the "BeastMode Fighter of the Night" award to one special fighter.

"I'm really on that owner hype right now, ya feel me," Lynch said in a statement.

"Pro teams, leagues, companies and brands, I'm wit it. Ownership allows you to be closer to the action, to keep learning and making a difference. At the end of the day, the PFL opportunity is another blessing, that's all I can really say. PFL is the future of MMA and it's always a win-win when you can work with like-minded folks."

Lynch is not the only celebrity to join the PFL this season. Last week, Cameron "Wiz Khalifa" Thomaz joined the league as an adviser.

"I'm excited to welcome Wiz Khalifa to the PFL's ownership group and partner with a gifted music and cultural icon," PFL CEO Peter Murray said.

"Wiz will play an active role in shaping and amplifying the voice of the PFL brand and how it resonates with fans around the world."

Lynch and Wiz Khalifa are two of the latest celebrities to join the PFL investment group. Three years ago, comedian, actor and entrepreneur Kevin Hart joined the PFL ownership group.

The 2021 PFL season kicked off in April and will continue through the summer. Former UFC Champion Anthony Pettis, boxing champion Claressa Shields and several other top fighters will compete this season.
