A Family Dollar employee is reportedly facing termination after being caught on video making racist remarks about Black people by an Afro-Latino customer.

According to Fox 26, Deon "Chico" Young was shopping at a Family Dollar in Houston when he caught the employee telling another customer in Spanish that Black people only come to the store to steal.

Young, who is Afro-Latino and fluent in English, Spanish, and French, confronted the employee over her racist remarks in a video that went viral.

In the video, Young advised the Family Dollar worker to be mindful of her remarks because he's Cuban and can understand Spanish. He also called out the woman for apparently assuming that he wouldn't pick up on her statements in Spanish because he's Black.

"Because you see me as a Black man, and you speak another language, doesn’t mean I don’t know what you’re saying. And that’s my whole thing. Watch what you’re saying, because you never know who understands you, and you never know who you offend," Young said.

Young's video garnered over 380,000 TikTok views, 88,000 likes, and a response from Family Dollar's corporate office.

In a follow-up video, Young said Family Dollar reached out to him to apologize and informed him that the employee involved would be fired.
