Target foot traffic is continuing to nosedive following its DEI rollback.

According to Retail Brew, the retail giant's saw a drop in its foot traffic for the eighth conservative week after the company announced in January that it was ending its DEI programs and initiatives.

Foot traffic fell 5.7 percent YoY the week of March 17, per data from Placer.ai. The week before, traffic in the store had dived 7.1 percent. The past eight weeks have seen an average weekly decline of 6.2 percent.

Target executives said in a March 4 earnings call that it had suffered a 3.1 percent Q4 loss along with a sales decline in February.

The decrease in sales and foot traffic comes amid several boycotts started in protest against the company's DEI rollback. As Target attempts to bolster its sales with its Easter assortment, Black religious leaders are leading a 40-plus day boycott coinciding with Lent.

Wartmart and McDonald's are also suffering slumps in foot traffic, averaging 1.6 percent and 3.6 percent losses over the past eight weeks, respectively.

In comparison, Costco, a company that has reaffirmed its DEI commitment, has steadily increased its foot traffic over the past 13 weeks. The week of March 17 saw a 5.2 percent rise in traffic.
