President Donald Trump has confirmed that Diddy asked him for a pardon following his conviction on two prostitution-related charges.

While speaking with reporters in the Oval Office on Monday (October 6), Trump said Diddy, who was recently sentenced on prostitution-related charges, requested a pardon, per ABC News.

"A lot of people have asked me for pardons," Trump said. "I call him Puff Daddy, [he] has asked me for a pardon."

Diddy was sentenced Friday (October 3) to more than four years in prison, with credit for the 12 months already served at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his September 2024 arrest. He was also fined $500,000.

Diddy's legal team said they plan to appeal, arguing the sentence was excessive and based on unproven claims unrelated to the charges for which he was convicted.

“The jury made it very clear in their verdict that they acquitted him of the sex trafficking and the RICO counts,” lead attorney Teny Geragos said. “Not guilty means not guilty.”

In a letter submitted Monday (October 6), Combs’ attorneys also requested that he be held at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security federal prison in New Jersey that offers the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP).

“In order to address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts, we request that the Court strongly recommend to the Bureau of Prisons that Mr. Combs be placed at FCI Fort Dix,” Geragos wrote.

Trump’s comments came as he was also asked whether he would consider a pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell, a former associate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. On Monday, the Supreme Court declined to hear Maxwell’s appeal of her sex trafficking conviction.

“I’ll take a look at it,” Trump said. “I will speak to the Justice Department.”

Maxwell is currently serving a prison sentence for helping Epstein recruit and exploit underage girls.

No official decision has been announced on either pardon.
